Time goes slowly...

It's monday already again you might think but where did all my weekend go?
I was working friday way too long so I decided to stay home and did ähm, nothing? Saturday was one of my bestfriends birthday so we went out to eat sushi and had drinks at a bar, latenight pommes and a night bus home ended in a whole sunday in bed with Tatort with my flatmates in the evening.
The whole timechanging does confuses me still and I'm feeling strange the whole time.
Had uni today at 8 already and went home after only two courses, skipping one, english grammar, who needs that anyway (ME...)
Took a long hot bath, watched a documentary about australias nationalparks on Arte (watch it, its great, in german) and now I think I do have to do some homework...
Tomorrow or wednesday I am going to order a new mac and I'm so looking forward to it.
Tomorrow I'm working at the cafe at 7, not looking forward to that at all!

best friend in town.

Berlin summer 2012 when my best friend visited me. Good, happy times.

last hours.

Hamburg, just some hours before one stupid plane started to Dubai... 107 days... 41 one more to count down...

weekend ahead!

oh lovely friday tomorrow, which means, work. 8,5 hours of 'hard' work at the cafe, but it's fine. I do like my coworkers, or most of them and the atmosphere is good too.
Yesterday I met friends and we went for drinks which was really great to. Sitting together and talking, drinking white wine, what do you want more on a wednesday night in Berlin?
So today I was at the international office, wrote some mails, send some letters, did talking.
Afterwards I had a meeting with one of my teachers about a course I'm doing about the fact that I can't attend classes (cause I'm working at the io) and the fact that I can't come to the exercise lessons because I will be in Australia then but, as I thought, it is no problem for him at all. Why can't all teachers be like this? I am really grateful that it is no problem. We talked about internship too and I showed him the company I would want to work at, and, no worries, it would be just fine for him. So fingers crossed they take me! It would be so good if I could already sign an internship contract that day I am there (10th of december) I would be able to apply for a scholarship right away! Hope, Hope, Hope!

Saturday one of my best friends is coming to town because of his birthday on sunday and we are going to eat sushi together and have drinks and I am so looking forward to that, even so there is a indoor music festival in my part of Berlin the same night, but friends first!

What are your plans for the weekend?

2012/10/23

Ok, no surprise, I got my tourist visa to go and spend christmas with my boyfriend and his family this year. right now it's 44 days left until the plane leaves berlin and I cant wait. I am some weeks into the new semester right now and oh so much work. add my two regular work hours plus babysitting and here I sit now, heavy headache and so much work to do until tomorrow. and I should say, it is my fault. I had the whole weekend to do uniwork and I didn't, so why complain? Argh. I've been in uni today 8 hours! lessons through the whole time, no time to do a bit of work... Right now I just have to prioritise what is most important until tomorrow and decide wether I should go to maths tomorrow at 8 or not... guess the second... and still new apple event is happening soon and I do need a new mac sooner then later...
And, no I can't work on my statistics exercises while I watch the keynote cause my macbook is way too old and cant do it :/
How was your day?

Finally we are 4 again! The fantastic four! Haha. A new start, a new beginning! It does feel good.

Germany Sweden football game!

So yesterday my flatmates and I went to the football game at Olympia Stadion in Berlin.
The first half was pretty boring when you went there the way I did, dressed as a Swedish fan. But then, what happened during halftime break in the Swedish changing room? What a comeback! Never would I or anyone else have imagined that they could change a 4-0 to a draw!
Sad thing is about to happen! My vegemite is coming to an end :(

Nutcake

Ok so this recipe makes two cakes or one baking sheet and then you can cut it up in corners which is great as well, my baking sheet was not deep enough, so I ended up with two cakes, should have only made half of the amount but well, never enough cake!

Dough:
450g flour
1 ts baking powder
100g brown sugar
Bit of salt
3 eggs
175g margarine or butter

Combine all the ingredients and make a good dough. Then onto a baking sheet or in cake forms, keep it even everywhere.
Then cover the surface with a thin layer of any jam you prefer (best currant or apricots)

Filing:
200g butter or margarine
200g brown sugar
6 tablespoons water
600g of nuts (almonds, hazelnuts...)
Melt the butter or margarine and add the water, in a big bowl, mix the dry ingredients and add vanilla sugar or cinnamon or what ever you feel like. Then mix margarine into and mix well.

Cover the dough even with the nut mix.

Bake in mid of your oven 190degree for 30-40 min, let cool down and cut if you want

Decorate with chocolate (melt 1:4 margarine to chocolate)

AND ENJOY!

Weather was great today too and I baked nutcake, going to post some pictures and the recipe soon, so delicious!

Tomorrow uni at 8 so I'm in bed and my stomach is so full with cake, so good.

Changed tea into chips
So I planned to bake german "Nussecken" which means nutcorners but I'm just too tired right now. Last night I've been at a bar in my part of Berlin which was really nice and I will go there again someday. After that we went to a concert which was a bit disappointing but I had some good chats with friends and a lot of dancing when my friends later were the DJs after the concert. Everything finished with Pommes at Alexanderplatz and a sleepy train ride back home, well not me, just everyone else.
Today I've been on a tour with the exchange students at my university, or a part of them and I heard a lot of new things about Berlin, the weather was really great and it was fun to be around with them. I had some nice talks with our intern at the international office and it just happens that she lives three to four streets aways from me!
Tomorrow there are people coming to look at our empty room and to introduce them self and I am not so looking forward to that. I hope the weather will be nice and I maybe get time to go out a bit and for baking!
So now I make a cup of tea, hop into bed and read a bit in my book and listen to some good music!
Over and Out.
